Session 1 – Types of Publishing & Types of Reviews, 6:15-6:45pm
Description – Topics to be addressed are: the different types of publishing (e.g. traditional, hybrid, and self-publishing) and the different types of book reviews (e.g. customer reviews and editorial book reviews). The importance of these types of book reviews will also be discussed.

Session 2 – Networking & Exhibitor/Vendor Browsing, 6:50-7:50pm
Description – Attendees and vendors will have the opportunity to interact through networking and/or exchanging products and services.

Session 3 – Getting Started as an Author-preneur, 12:15-12:45pm
Description – Have you ever wanted to become an author-preneur? This session is designed to give authors the tools they need to get started on their paths. The focus will be teaching authors how to build a platform and empowering them to build an author-preneur business.

Session 4 – Networking & Exhibitor/Vendor Browsing, 12:45-1:15pm
Description – Attendees and vendors will have the opportunity to interact through networking and/or exchanging products and services.

Session 5 – Editorial Tips, 1:30-2:00pm
Description – Writing tips and tricks to help anyone improve their writing. Other points to be covered are: common mistakes writers make, words and phrases to avoid, such as cliches, and practical/fundamental exercises and habits to improve one’s writing ability.

Session 6 – Graphic Design, “Presentation is Everything,” 2:00-2:30pm
Description – Topics will include: commercial licenses versus full rights usage, graphic design on a budget, and formatting a manuscript before sending it to print.

Session 7 – Networking & Exhibitor/Vendor Browsing, 2:45-3:15pm
Description – Attendees and vendors will have the opportunity to interact through networking and/or exchanging products and services.

Session 8 – Copyright and Intellectual Property, 3:15-3:45pm
Description – This session will be a general introduction to copyright and intellectual property issues. It will not cover the details of specific acts but outline the concepts and practices involved in copyright and intellectual property protection.

Session 9 – Promoting Your Work, 4:00-4:30pm
Description – Having trouble finding a promotional strategy that works for you. Now that you are an author-preneur, an author, and an entrepreneur, promoting your work will begin and end with you. So, where should you begin? This session will help you get started on your promotional journey.

Session 10 – Working with Libraries and Bookstores/Booksellers, 4:30-5:00pm
Description – Topics to be covered include: hosting a book tour or an author event, building relationships with libraries and bookstores, submitting a book for inclusion in a library or a bookstore’s catalog.

Session 11 – Networking & Exhibitor/Vendor Browsing, 5:15-5:45pm
Description – Attendees and vendors will have the opportunity to interact through networking and/or exchanging products and services.

Session 12 – Closing Thoughts and Motivation, 5:45-6:15pm
***30 minutes will be allotted after the last session for more questions and networking. – 6:30-7:00pm***
